About the Blogger

I’m a competitive adult figure skater with photos of my bruises as proof.

As a teenager, I could be found at the Arborg Skating Club or her rink at home.

Health problems dashed my dreams of landing a double loop, and I stepped away from qualifying competitions. When I came back to the ice, I competed in non-qualifying events.

In 2016, I returned to competition, winning the gold medal. It was exactly 22 years since my last competition.

I have a strong background in sports reporting. After working for Shaw TV Edmonton, I was the freelance figure skating reporter with the Edmonton Journal. Besides skating, I’ve covered football, soccer, and – of course – hockey.

I’m writing a memoir about her skating, including the time I was nearly disqualified from a regional competition.
